Erde & Saat

The Organic Association Erde & Saat has stood for fertile soil, seed care and animal welfare since 1987. A basic principle of the daily work of the association is the mutual support, communication and solidarity of the member companies. This attitude offers the opportunity to exchange experiences, to develop or impart knowledge and thus to find practice-oriented solutions. The Erde & Saat way of working shows that the daily work with soil, plants and animals exceeds the legal requirements of the current EU organic regulation. In terms of a holistic understanding, the Association of Organic Farmers attaches particular importance to implementing the principles of organic farming.

• Promotion of a farming community and social structures
• Promoting the circular economy and sustainability
• The best and safest quality of our food from production to consumption
• Careful use of nature, preservation of biodiversity, as well as the promotion of beneficial insects
• Soil and humus formation and promotion of soil life
• Seed care as an important part of our work - use of high-quality, organic seed, site-adapted varieties and farm varieties
• Residue-free and GMO-free production
• Preservation and promotion of the rural economy (representation of interests)
• Development of cooperation in order to achieve the best possible marketing of our food, as well as further development of various marketing channels
• Mutual support among their own farmers
• Party-political independence and no exclusions, cooperation with other organic associations
• Further development of organic farming through cooperation with other organic associations, organic farmers, processors and marketers

In addition to the EU organic regulation, Erde & Saat member companies also comply with the more extensive Erde & Saat guidelines. This is a set of rules that is constantly being further developed by the Erde & Saat member companies.
