AMA-Biosiegel

AMA-Biosiegel

Based on the EU organic logo, AMA Marketing has developed a quality seal for organic food - the state-recognized AMA-Biosiegel. It guarantees high food quality, food safety and, compared to the EU organic logo, more organic through improved environmental standards. The red-white-red AMA-Biosiegel with the indication of origin AUSTRIA guarantees Austria as the place of origin of the agricultural raw materials and also as the place of treatment and processing.

Customer benefit

The AMA-Biosiegel stands for more organic and more quality, i.e. for 100% organic ingredients of agricultural origin. The agricultural raw materials come from organic farms that participate in quality programs. The requirements go beyond the legal requirements and include optimal product quality (good manufacturing practice/HACCP) and naturalness by reducing additives. Around a quarter of the additives permitted by the EU organic regulation may not be used in AMA Biosiegel products.
Mandatory product analyzes and laboratory tests, e.g. a maximum limit for the total germ count for sausages, systematic residue monitoring for fruit and grain, etc. must be carried out. Environmentally friendly packaging, e.g. a ban on materials containing chlorine, is anchored in the guidelines.

Guidelines

The AMA-Biosiegel guideline pursues the vision of holistic quality assurance, i.e. quality regulations and controls from the field and stable to the shop. The AMA-Biosiegel stands for a guaranteed quality standard, regardless of which association logos or brands the food also bears. The AMA regularly coordinates with associations and brand owners and continuously develops its criteria. As a result, the AMA Biosiegel program takes on an intermediary role between commercial brands and producer associations.
